Stacy Haire and Tim Phillips reached out to Mike Kahle with Cobb County Adopt-A-Stream about an illegal trash dump on Rottenwood Creek. Mike quickly organized a clean-up to prevent further damage as the trash would spread downstream with the next heavy rain.

The following volunteers rose to the call for a quick weekday clean-up. From left to right:

  • Roger Boss
  • Stacey Haire
  • Jeff Hite
  • Ina Allison
  • George Aycock
  • Maggi Moss
  • Connie Ghosh

The volunteers waded into the creek and walked along the banks to remove as much trash as they could reach and carry.

It was a very successful day. These volunteers, in just  a few hours, filled 65 garbage bags with about 975 pounds of trash and removed another 325 pounds of tires and assorted large items.
